FAOP 2010 Membership Renewal Time

This is just a reminder that it's time to renew your FAOP membership for 2010. If you are a current member, please submit your information and payment now to continue to enjoy the benefits of an FAOP member. If you are not a current member, we urge you to become one.

Attached, please find a membership renewal form. Please fill it out and return it with your payment. FAOP members receive discounts on CEU courses and the Annual FAOP/FCAAOP conference.

JANUARY 1, 2009

Recently enacted legislation requires licensed practitioners and Residents to wear an identification badge while treating patients. There is also a requirement that non-licensed support personnel must identify themselves with a badge as designed by the Board. These badges must comply with the new statute and recently passed Board rules. These requirements go into effect January 1, 2009. Failure to adhere to these new requirements exposes you to expensive fines and disciplinary action.

For all those that register as a vendor, FAOP would be more than happy to place your promotional items in the attendee goodie bags. There is no charge for this service.

ATTENTION: If you are currently not a member of FAOP, we will NOT be able to answer any licensing questions or assist you with any issues regarding licensure renewal. This is strictly a membership benefit. To become a member of FAOP, please refer to the Membership Form.

PLEASE NOTE: FAOP does not maintain records of credits obtained through outside sources. Any credits obtained through FAOP are electronically reported to the Board of O & P through CE Broker and also to ABC. It is the sole responsibility of the practitioner to maintain continuing education credits and requirements as stated in the law.

The mission of the Florida Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists (FAOP) is to ensure the highest standard of orthotic and prosthetic care for persons with disabilities. This is accomplished by actively promoting the professional development of FAOP members and supporting excellence in business practices. Through the development of collaborative relationships with local, state and national groups, the FAOP seeks to raise awareness and increase public support for professional standards and accountability regarding the provision of comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care.
